BURIEN STREET RALLY
Burien Indivisible holds a street rally on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. Join us from 12 to 2pm for a lively, fun rally at 1st Ave S and 148th by the "Welcome to Burien" archway! Bring a sign, your good will, and rally with us. If you don't have a sign, just show up -- we usually have extras! We are committed to nonviolent action. All are expected to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. (Do Not Feed the Trolls!)
For more information and to RSVP follow the link. Sign up is optional.
We all know it is vitally important that we vote on both national and local issues. We also know Washington is not a national battleground state. To make more of an impact on national elections, we have to reach out to voters in those contested battleground states. One way to do this is by sending handwritten postcards reminding like-minded voters to participate. Some races in those states have victory margins within a few percentage points. Nonpartisan studies have shown that postcard campaigns can swing the vote by 1-2 percent. Do not surrender in advance! It's worth a try!
Burien Indivisible hosts 2 post carding sessions each month. On the first Monday of the month we meet at Logan Brewing in Burien. On the third Monday we meet at Future Primitive in White Center. Both are from 4pm to 6pm.
Join us to write cards with other like-minded folks. We'll bring the postcards; you bring yourself and join in! Or feel free to pick up postcards to go.
